About our spam prevention measures

We receive tons of spam and virus mail on the support request email address. In the past it took us a lot of time weeding through those messages and finding the real requests for support. One of the reasons so much spam got through was that we did not want to do SPF checks or run a spam filter on incoming messages, simply because the people asking for support are often already having delivery problems.

To put a halt to this distracting stream of messages, we have implemented a simple filtering policy on the e-mail address used by the support request system:

  1. all mail submitted through the contact form is accepted;
  2. all mail that is in reply to any mail sent out by the request system is accepted;
  3. all other mail is rejected.
