FAQ/My mail is not spam

Why are you marking my mail as spam?

This question has two invalid assumptions. The first invalid assumption is that we are processing your messages in any way. This is not the case. Only your e-mail service provider (ESP, the party that handles your e-mail for you) does so.

The second invalid assumption is that SPF is an anti-spam tool, which it is not. SPF is a protocol designed to prevent forgery of e-mail addresses (e.g. the abuse of your e-mail address by spammers or viruses).

If a message sent to you was flagged by SPF as a forgery, there should be a URL somewhere in the message or the headers (something like "http://www.openspf.org/why.html"). That web page contains more information about why the message was flagged as a forgery. If you have trouble understanding what the message is trying to tell you, you can get support from our community.

Finally, if a spam filter says your message is spam based solely on the SPF evaluation, that spam filter is wrong. Please notify us if you run into such software.
